The underlying work to migrate mail to O365 has been completed:

  1. Enable Azure AD Connect and sync all objects to Azure AD (ABPN-DC)
  2. Configure Hybrid Deployment (ABPN-MAIL01)
  3. Create GPO object to force outlook login to MSO login


To migrate indiviudal mailboxes:


On ABPN-DC

  1. Identify the mailboxes that will be included in the migration batch (recmmoned that all users are in the same OU in AD)
  2. In Active Directory, Create a sub-folder in that OU called O365 Migration
  3. In Group Policy Management, Link the Existing GPO O365 Mail Migration policy to the new OU sub-folder
  4. Move the AD objects that will be included into the batch into the new OU sub-folder


In O365 Exchange Managment

  1. In O365 Exchange Admin
  2. Navigate to the Migration tab
  3. Click Add Migration Batch 
  4. Follow the wizard and enter the following:
    1. Migration Path: Name: <Description of the batch>, Mailbox Migration Path: Migration to Exchange Online
    2. Migration Type: Remote Move Migration
    3. Migration Endpoint: Hybrid Migration Endpoint - EWS
    4. Add users: Manually Add users to migration, enter memebers of the batch
    5. Configuration: Target Delivery domain: abpn.mai.onmicrosoft.com
    6. Schedule: Auotmatically Start the batch, Manually completing the batch later
  5. Click save and wait for the batch to complete syncing
  6. Revew the sync results and if satisfied, select the batch and click Complete Batch
  7. Notify users to sign out of computer and log back in, outlook should prompt for O365 login and outlook should work as normal. Users will then need to access webmail from outlook.office.com from now on. The account will need to be removed and re-added to mobile devices.
