These steps will guide IT staff on how to onboard someone with new hardware. All steps in this process assume they are being run on the computer remotely (Do not do these steps from the computer you are attempting to configure)


  1. Configure User Permissions
    1. Add user to groups:
      1. ABPN Private Wireless (Wifi Access)
      2. ABPN VPN Users (VPN Access)
  2. Provision Laptop
    1. Plug in computer to wired network.
    2. When starting up the laptop, the OOBE (Out of Box Experience) displays. Insert the usb containing the ABPN Provisioning Package. The provisioning package will run automatically, and report when complete.
    3. The provisioning pagage performs the following actions
      1. Renames the computer
      2. Adds the computer to the ABPN domain
      3. Creates a local admin account called LocalA
      4. Installs NinjaRMM agent
    4. Label the Laptop. Use a labelmaker and label computer with the network computer name
  3. Record Asset
    1. Navigate to https://abpn.sharepoint.com/it/Lists/Asset%20Tracker/ACTIVE.aspx?as=json
    2. Locate the Users Existing Computer in the list
      1. Edit the record and mark Retired as yes
    3. Click Add New Item. Fill out the form
      1. Device Name (Network computer name)
      2. User (username of assigned user)
      3. Manufacturer
      4. Model (Most are Lattitude 5540)
      5. Year (2024)
      6. Serial Number (Can be obtained from NinjaRMM)
      7. Service Tag (For Dell, this is same as above)
      8. Device Type
      9. RMM (Set to yes if prvisioning was successful)
  4. Install software
    1. Navigate to https://app.ninjarmm.com/ and sign in
    2. Search for the computer that was just provisioned
    3. Hover over 'Play' button,  Hover over Run Automation, Click Install Application and search for the install scripts Run all as ABPN Admin
      1. Install SentinelOne
        1. Select Run As = ABPN Admin
        2. Preset Parameter = (Select the site token parameter from drop down)
        3. Click Run
        4. Wait for computer to reboot
      2. Install 7-Zip
      3. If Users will not be licensed for paid Acrobat, Install Adobe Acrobat Reader
    4. Hover over 'Play' button,  Hover over Run Automation, Click Script and search for the install scripts 
      1. Install ABPN VPN Profile
      2. If the user will be licensed for Adobe Acrobat, Install Acrobat From Shared Software
      3. Install Mitel Connect
      4. Install MS Teams
    5. Work with user to install any additional software they may need.
  5. Install Hardware
    1. Remove the user's existing Desktop
    2. Install New Dock to existing monitors and printer
    3. Replace Mouse and Keyboard
    4. Dock laptoop and ensure functionality
  6. User Sign-in
    1. Have the user sign in and access Outlook to sign in. Verify account signing and outlook set up.
    2. Have user check user folders
    3. Have user check any needed software
    4. Give user VPN Connection Instructions

  7. Enable Bit-Locker
    1. User or Admin must be signed in
    2. Enable Bit Locker
      1. Select the option to allowbit locker to be unlocked automatically
      2. Save the recovery file to: P:\IT Public\BitLocker
